Artist Statement

From times of great joy to years of difficult challenges, photography has always been an important part of my life. I remember in my earliest years, before I was old enough to know how to operate a camera, leafing through National Geographic and Life magazine. I was fascinated with the beautiful images and aware of the emotions they brought to the surface.  In high school, my Mother bought my first point and shoot 35mm camera. Soon after, I joined the photography club, and by my junior year I was developing my own Black and white pictures. After graduation, I joined the service and travelled to Europe where I bought my first 35mm SLR camera and continued my passion by recording my experiences in a photo journalistic fashion. Upon leaving the service, my photography had to take a back seat while going to school; and thereafter, entered a new set of chapters in my life. For the past fifteen years I have spent building a successful career in the technology field where I still spend much of my time. It was during some very difficult times in my life in the recent past, that I rediscovered my passion. I look for the beauty of life in everything and try to capture the peaceful moments as well as the images that reach into the dark unexplored corners of the mind. I hope you enjoy my work.
